What I got :P Good things can come to those who wait, $8 at the start $5 when I bought one. I've seen posts about the 'Brulee Cart' though as they're on the go it's hard to find and they don't stay in one spot too long. $8 is expensive though. At $5 I'd get two though. :)



I loved it! A lovely brunt sugar top that cracked when you dug in, I love popcorn - when it's covered in buttery sugary goodness (le beau got me popcorn from Happy Lab :) and a perfectly not too sweet creamy creamy custard like filling. Recommenced? Yes! Price? Hmm... just this once? :) Sadly they were closed when I came back for the second one. Next time we'll buy everything at the same time.  


We got restricted view seats, very close to the stage. So close we could see all the cameras and screens. One of the conductor's front (rarely seen from an audience's POV), another of what people at home can see (it was a live event) and a 3rd that had the words for the hosts to read from, while recording them.

Monday 22nd December



We took pictures, went dancing and shopping. Last dance class for the year. Bought the ingredients for a cooking adventure tomorrow, it's an adventure as I rarely cook, he does.  

Q - Would you eat cake someone gives you, when you don't know them, and they're a random person in your class? :P Ben (random guy we're trying to be friends with) doesn't know my name. 

Tuesday

Today was spent mainly at the dr's waiting room, he was running late, a 2.30 appointment turned into 3.35pm. And there goes the afternoon we were going to cook/create. He can't find what's wrong with me. Also with the wrist thing I need to make an effort to wear the support almost all the time - which means I can barely type/write/take picture and I can barely pick up anything including the phone. It also means I can't go dancing or work. There's not much I can do really. :( 

With work I don't like to tell them that I have a serve disability but it makes me look weak, I am the weak link. That and I'm unemployable due to the condition. In a way events, or rather that specific event has ruined my life. I've already given up badminton, and now it looks like I have to give up almost all my activities.

In between things in my diary we stopped by the drugstore to buy some moisturizer, as the Bioderma one I tried had a greasy residue which means everything even dust particles will stick to you. I love the QV range over Ego, but I can't remember if I'm after the lotion or cream (the later's packaging got revamped) so I got the smaller one. With the $15 birthday reward we paid $2. Think I should have gotten the bigger bottle...




Work (disability friendly) needed more people so I said yes, I like wrapping things. :) Worst present a toilet training pot - not one, but two of them.





Wednesday



Today we worked at the Carols by Candlelight event which was fun, the uniform's purple. Yay! There was sandwiches, snacks and ice cream, as well as Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate which I love. The Magnum was Strawberry, Lucy approves. It was nice but a little artificial - I chose it for the white chocolate.




When we were done we stayed for the carols and got restricted view seats, can;t see the choir/orchestra. But we did see Glinda (Wicked) and 18 of the Cast of Les Mis! Who did a mash-up. It was pretty cool. And the end there was streamers rather than a balloon drop or confetti canon. :( Easier to clean up though. 

There was lots of $$$ lighting/sound/recording stuff including cameras on cranes, and people on seats hanging from the ceiling doing lights. Jas would have loved it.

Thursday



Today we finished decorating the gingerbread house! It tastes like dog cookies... not much flavour and too hard. But it was fun to decorate and at times tiring. 




But we also made dinner, which took a few hours, but it worked! Featuring sausages we made Morrocan Tagine with Couscous. Need to add dried cranberries and raisins next time. Discovered I'm ok with chickpeas but too much, no likely. Couscous needs less salt. 

Opened a few kk presents and researched the list for tomorrow. We didn't do much today...

Today we had training at work, and I may have done the module three times... oddly there's no test. I would have thought you need to do a walk through and show them that you know how everything works and the details.





Someone tried to break in at work, via the roof hoping to get into the 2nd level window. Instead they fell right through the roof! As it was in the process of being replaced. That probably wasn't a risk they considered. Can you really sue the owner when you got hurt if you were the one who broke in? 


Froyo after work, rasp & lychee and original yoghurt flavour, with boba/popping pearls I love. Met Chanel Guy afterwards who works at Starbucks, after being a daily visitor. :)

We discovered 'The Tudors' but Turkish with French-inspired costumes, Muhtesem Yüzyil or "The Magnificent Century". Based on events the life of a Ottoman Sultan (king). 

They have amazing costumes, those sleeves I love and headpieces that are a bit over the top, even for me.  

The first episode is 1.40 long... that's like almost a movie length. It starts with news of the dead king and the main guy being promoted like in the Tudors. Titles flash though the main girls, and there's a little showdown between what looks like the queen vs mistress (Catherine & Anne), there's cardinals and pretty costumes, and headpieces, I love headpieces! 

Main guy has 3 dead brothers and a sister, Henry 8th has one dead brother (older hence he got to be king) and a sister, Mary (I think, or Margarette).

I was right! It was around the same time as the Tudors. As the king sees Charles Rome, Francis of France and Henry Tudors as rivals.

They have taps and mascara, and a word lost in translation 'sherbert' means water I think.

It's very different from the Tudors in a way, exucuation wasn't a form of public entertainment, the girl of the night wasn't picked by the king but rather given to him. The whole concubine system is odd, they didn't have that in the Tudors, though did in ancient china (we studied that a bit at school). 

The end is quite amusing. Episodes go for 1.40hrs and are just too long and slow. Also no one did it, well it was implied but nothing like the Tudors. And no one was really killed, other than a bad guy and a village, but it wasn't as dramatic as Tudors.

A while back I discovered 'Magnificent Century' aka a series about the Turkish Tudors with French Inspired costumes. Set around the same time as the Tudors I'm here for the fashion and drama. I saw an episode and then skipped to the end as episodes are very long at 100 mins! Also I watch it with subtitles and so there's an intense amount of concentration required to understand what they're saying.





Like the Tudors it focus's on the King. I think the woman back left is his mother, then his best man (who he kills) two random lords (not important in the first episode). Orange haired girl is his mistress (Anne Boleyn) who lasts throughout the story and doesn't die till the end. On the right is his sister (I think) and in front is his wife (who's important because she gave him a son, who he (I think) kills when it's an adult). The story lasts much longer than the Tudors it seems as he & the mistress have five kids who become adults and all try to kill each other for the throne.

One Sunday I made chocolate cupcakes, while the texture was pretty good the taste wasn't due to the funny (not nice) aftertaste of Natvia. Also my questionable frosting (the piping bag exploded) skills. When it comes to cooking it is very possible that I'm mentally challenged.
