Known for his doughnuts with syringes is Bistro Morgan, who we've had the pleasure of meeting last year at a pop-up event and demo at Chadstone's William & Sonoma has opened up shop on High St x Chapel, Windsor! Its where Scroll'd was, near Lucky Coq.

Donuts and shakes were on the menu tonight at the launch.

The Space - Bigger than it appears, as it goes far back :P

In our opinion there are only three types of donuts: good ones, bad ones and Krispy Kreme (the OG that is, the filled ones aren't the same). Morgan's creations are good ones.

There's a weekly rotation including White Chocolate & Raspberry, PB&J!, Creme Brulee Lemon Curd, and classics like the Jam, Cookies & Cream and Salted Caramel. They're $5.50 each or 6-packs for $30.

To wash down doughnuts there's milkshakes! $7-7.50 each, the standard price.

So many choices... Gin picked PB&J! A doughnut filled with peanut butter, topped with strawberry jam and sticky caramel popcorn. With just the right amount of filling, she said. To wash them down Gin had the gaytime which was caramel with cookies crumbles, how did it compare to KFC's? Gin hasn't had the KFC Krusher, so can't compare, though Morgan would have quality on his side.

I'd love to see a savory turkey, brie and cranberry jelly one. :P

Lemon Creme Brulee Doughnut

A light and fluffy doughnut topped with crunchy sugar toffee. Filled with lemon curd.

I had the creme brulee lemon curd, tangy and sweet! The top had a burnt sugar glaze, hence the brulee part. I love the contrasts of flavours and texture, the fluffy deep fried donut, the smooth tangy lemon, the crackled sugar brulee.

The strawberry cheesecake milkshake was more yoghurty then cheesecake, fairly average. The best one I've ever had was at 8bit, which had a richer creamier taste.

Open Tues-Sun 10am till 6pm, 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
