August/September/December 2017

I'm not a fan of Chinese food with a few exceptions and one those is dumplings! We love dumplings. And google says Aunty's is the place to go in Clayton.

At 9pm on a Monday it's suprizingly very loud in here learning towards night club with students. The majority Asians so you know they do Chinese food well.

Cash only as expected. Dimly lit from the outside, it doesn't look open but is. No deco other than coloured paper scattering the walls of menu items with no pictures. A drinks fridge sits in the corner radiating very brightly.

We ordered the chicken and prawns dumplings pan fried, 10 for $11. The dumplings were perfectly crispy without being oily perhaps order this to share as an entree though or have it on the side of a dry noodle dish. Also needs a salad.

Steamed Egg Custard Buns 4 for $5.50

The custard buns weren't sweet enough for me, though still nice. Warm and homely I love them - but sweeter. I'd describe this as asian sweet. So soft, warm and fluffy...

We're back! For dinner on a Saturday night, it was busy so ubderstablely slow. Though we had to ask for water, while the table beside us were offered tea on arrival. Often we find that you get better service when you speak their language.

A Saturday night, mainly friends dinning.

Not sure what father ordered but he said it was good and a bit spicy. He's a man of few words, and those words are often complaining or bragging. If it's bad you'll be sure to hear about it.

Pan Fried Chicken & Prawn Dumplings 10 for $11

Perfect as always, steaming hot. Crispy skins, not oily or soggy.

Service is always minimal. Gosh I think the last time we went for just dumplings at an eatery was back in high school. There was a pebble in one of them... fortunately not this time. Or any time that we've been here.

This is our go to place for dumplings when away from the city or in between meetings if passing by. A quick cheap eat with no atmosphere.

Cash only.
