Yelp’s Brunswick Backyard Fiesta @ Sunday, March 06, 2016 Sunday 28th Feb Taking place in the undercover 'we're inside, but it just looks like we're outside' courtyard was a Backyard Fiesta Brunswick locals. With canapes from the host, cocktails from The Pisco People, and taco beer by Two Birds Brewing.
We love tacos!
Sweet and sour Pisco Sour is the national drink of both Peru and Chile, a refreshing cocktail, perfect for summer. With the base liquor, made by distilling grape wine into a high-proof spirit, pairs well with more than lime juice, sugar syrup, egg white and bitters. - weeklyreview Lavender Fizz - Featuring elderflower and lavender this drink was sweet, floral and light. Something to be served with afternoon tea, and a delight! Here's the recipe: Mix together 40ml Pisco, 15ml lavender syrup, 10ml elderflower liqueur and 10ml dry vermouth. Pour over ice, squeezing in half a lemon before topping it up with soda, stirring well and adding a sprig of lavender to serve.
Gucamole, queso fresco & Nixtamal corn chips - Corn chips and guca, what's not to like?
Its also got a kick with chili that saw me downing at least a pint of water!
Pickled pork toastada - Who knew pork came in so many forms? There's the actual pork and then there's fatty bits. I tried to eat it, but the texture that I'm not used to put me off, a personal thing, I'm terrified of pigs and pork. BBQ broccoli taco, pipian sauce, pepitas - A very healthy taco, though the toppings was a bit dry, did someone forget a sauce? Creamy and white is what I'm thinking, and add some corn. Pork crackling tacos - We didn't try this one. The Chilcano - Pisco, lime, ginger ale, bitters. We found this one a bit strong, and not as floral and pretty as the lavender. It had elements that reminded me of G&T.
